BARBARIANS GRAB THE CUP
by SPHL.tripod.com staff

It took seven games, but the Barbarians will be returning home with the booty.

SPHL fans couldn't ask for more excitement. Game 7 in Hamilton started on the right foot for the hometown faithful, but they soon found themselves down 2-1 heading into the second intermission.

The troops would rally, however, and Joe Thronton would seal the comeback, giving the Barbarians (and GM Chris Palmer) his first Siegel Cup.

Barbarians goalie Chris Terreri was named playoff MVP. He then shocked Hamilton and SPHL faithful by announcing his retirement.
