The season started with the defending champs losing Smehlik to free-agency, and teams like the Enforcers, Orcas, and Buzzards making the big trade to jockey for position. The Wolves were not the team they were the season before, and not expected to win the Siegal Cup, while the Enforcers were the big favorites after making some great trades.

This season there were a few surprises. The once mighty Snipers fell into financial trouble after over-spending in the free-agent market, and started to make changes. They traded away their much loved star, Mark Messier, to the Tornadoes. They made salary cuts, and grabbed draft-picks, finally giving up their lead in the Employee Division. The Bull Frogs, never able to pass the Snipers in the first round, made their play for top spot with some success, finishing only a point behind the Buzzards. Those were the two top teams in the Plante Conference, but both teams fell just short of a 100 points, and the mighty Orr Conference.

The Wolves finished second over-all with 110 points, the Enforcers were the best team with 115 points. Meanwhile, the Orcas and Ravens managed to end the season with 107 points making 4 out of the 8 Orr Conference teams finishing with seasons above 100 pointst, and a .600 winning percentage. The conference was so powerful, a talented team like the Gators could not even manage to surpass the .500 mark, while the hugely advertised Tornadoes gave-up the idea of a play-off spot before thet trade-deadline, and traded away their Mark Messier to the Ravens.

The trade made the Ravens in the play-offs, as they upset the Enforcers in the first round in 6 games. The Wolves didn't finish much ahead of the Orcas, and after taking a 3 to 1 lead, The Orcas managed to take the game to 7. The Wolves came out victorious in overtime on the 7th game. Meanwhile, in the Plante Conference the Buzzards and Bull Frogs swept their series. The Bull Frogs made it to the semi-finals for the first time in their history, and managed to come back from a 3 to 1 series against the Buzzards to go on into the finals. Meanwhile the Wolves took on the Ravens, and won in 7 games after again having a 3 to 1 lead.

Would the Wolves three-peat the Siegal Cup? It only took 5 games, as the Toronto Arctic Wolves earned their third straight Siegal Cup.
